Spring Crocus

Spring... finally! Viewed from just across Parliament Hill in Ottawa.

[ f/16, 1/125, 16mm, ISO 200 ]

i lie on my belly
and look through the crocus beds
from the cold winter
into a fresh perspective

it is finally spring
colour instead of greys and browns

i breathe in
the scent of grass
the faint perfume of simple dreams

that only exist
indeed persist
in the spring
of the changing seasons
in winter climates

where hope endures

  1. Spring is my favourite season, and you've given a good explanation why. The crocuses in the picture seem larger than life and almost surreal, lovely :)
