Sunny - With Cloudy Periods

Happy Easter everyone. I went for a walkabout this past Friday and took this photo of one of the windows outside the Old Mill, just past the War Museum in Ottawa. It reminded me of Easter. Perhaps it was the colours. Or the view being reflected back through the window.

[ f/14, 19mm, 1/80 sec, ISO 200 ]
Sunny with cloudy periods

both sun
and cloud
within my window view

do not
the clouds
make a richer blue?

and so it is -
the life
i share with you

  1. The photo and the poem speak to the truth... we require the bitter to know and appreciate the sweet. Lovely, as always, Mario.

  3. The photo and the words are stunning in tandem. Absolutely true clouds do allow us to appreciate the richness of that blue. As the enrichment of sharing life with another may be obscured by everyday views but take a step back and you can enjoy the view that life makes! In short, well done. Love it.

  7. I adore the color of the shutters and it seems as though there is even some blue in the bricks (don't know if that's a trick of photography or really was there). It's such a lovely photo, and your words are perfect and so true.

  12. I have to admit, at first glance I didn't see anything that extraordinary in the photo. Then I saw the reflection, so rich and clear. You have such an eye -- and a great pen, too.

  13. I just love this photo. The purple shutters and the blue reflected sky beautifully compliment the brick and gives me the feeling of looking through a magic portal. Your words are perfect as well. This is just awesome. I'm bookmarking it.

  15. What subtle yet beautiful contrasts this image offers and yes, when we accept that opposites and contrasts are just different versions of the same oneness, life becomes riches and less conflicted. Great work as always!
