Putting On a New Skin

Ottawa, near the Bytown Market area. Colorful costumes to suit every personality.

[ f/8, 1/160, 24mm, ISO 200 ]

fantasy
or feeling good

doesn't matter
if you're happy
or you're madder

doesn't matter
which it is
the mood you're in
that leads you
to putting on a new skin

feel good

wrapped up in your new skin
let the fun begin

carefree

you're fantasy
will always win

cause when
you're wrapped up in a new skin

ain't nothing
you can call a sin

just feeling good
wrapped up in your new skin

Black and White

Taken on a country road in Mississippi Mills, Ontario.

[ f/7.1, 1/640, 122mm, ISO 200 ]

ever feel like you're between identities
ever feel like there's something about you that just doesn't quite fit
ever feel like you can't make up your mind
that nothing is just black
or just white

that everything is complicated
composed of opposite natures

and you can't decide if the music should be fast or slow

and you can't can't resolve old aging and the desire still to grow

a country drive
should bring peaceful thoughts

not philosophy
or yearning

the anguish that's brought
by dreams still sought

Country Charm

Spotted this wonderful old log home during a drive in the country.

[ f/18, 1/40, 38mm, ISO 200 ]

country charisma lives here

in the charm of the old logs
and the cheerfulness of plants in bloom
the rusted roof
contrasted
by delicate curtain lace

simple times
meets modern times

though the heavy wires
signalling modern power
seems to just pass on by

the windows - one blind up
the other down
seems to wink at us
like those that reside inside
know something that we are missing

perhaps they're right

SideWalk Rainbows

Took this cheery photo in the Market area, downtown Ottawa. Some of you might know which storefront this sits in front of.

[ f/8, 1/160, 42mm, ISO 200 ]

rainbows don't just happen in the sky
life saver colors we pass by

sidewalk rainbows
make you smile
on colored chairs
you sit awhile

watching people
pass on by
they look at you
they check the sky

you smile

children giggle at the sight
pointing at you with delight

sidewalk rainbows
to make you smile
the colored chairs
say sit awhile

watching people
asking why

why did these rainbows
fall from the sky
